Significant Life Event Part 2.

Just finished the last school work I will ever do for the rest of my life. I have to show up to class on Tuesday to submit my last movie and then I’m done forever.

Significant Life Event Post.

Just told Costco that I’m quitting today! After three years I’ve only got 6 more weeks of my time to waste at that place! Three days after that my flight leaves.

More future!

If all of this wasn’t enough for my awesome future, I just put a deposit down for a trip to Pamplona for the San Fermin Festival… better known as The Running of the Bulls! Even better one of my best friends might come over to visit and run with me!

And for the promotional code I typed in, “I’m a poor student! Help me! haha”. Worth a shot.

Life update!
Just booked my flight to London where my girlfriend and I will share a flat until October! It’s been a rough 159 days since I last saw her in person and now there’s only 142 days left! That’s over halfway! If you can’t see there’s a stopover in Iceland for the flight which is a dream come true. While in London I will meet up with Sherwin, visit Kirsty in Scotland, Viu from Barcelona, my Aunt in Ireland and anyone else in the area that considers themselves tumblr friends (or future tumblr friends). I’m going to try to get a job with the Olympics and just generally enjoy myself. At the end of September my best friend Eric is coming over and we are going to go backpacking across Europe for 45 days.
We’ve already got it plotted out at a rough estimate of $5,000. We leave from London to Paris where my godmother has a timeshare. From there we will travel by car from Brussels to Amsterdam> Berlin> Prague> Munich (in time for Oktoberfest!!!)> Vienna> Bratislava> Budapest. We have a flight from Budapest to Istanbul that has a layover in Riga. We wanted to go to Athens but had to cut it out… until the cheapest flight from Istanbul to Tel Aviv had a day layover there! From Tel Aviv we go to Jerusalem, Petra and finally Cairo before catching a flight back to the U.S.A.! So, I mean, I guess I’m kind of excited.

I work at a bakery and I am currently full-time overnights for the holidays. I also go to school full time. I hadn’t realized this was in issue until right now. Today, I have to write a paper for class, watch a movie, do a scene analysis then go straight into work. When I get home I’ll have about two hours to sleep before leaving for school to finish movie and scene analysis. Once school is over I’ll be going straight back into work until 3:30 the next morning at which point I will come home and partake in the sleep of the Gods. That’s to be followed by waking up and going out for Thanksgiving Eve. Hello caffeine, please get me through these next 36 hours.

My first 21st birthday present! I’m old, I know, right!? (My birthday isn’t actually until Saturday) I just got this package from the best pen pal I could ever hope for.  It’s cider and cider is her favorite.  It’s not like American cider though this is actually…

“A high quality, traditional cider, bursting with character and made with the finest apples from our orchards in a single year’s harvest.  The cider is aged in our impressive, historic oak vats.”

It’s aged cider, freshly imported (7.4% alc.) from England, made right in her hometown. And I wish (as she does in the letter) that she could be here to share a “Sheppy” with me on my birthday.  Thanks, Rosie.

Sometimes, I leave my phone ringer on in class.

I hope someone texts me because I always make friends in class when they hear the Zelda “Secret” sound.

One time my picture message went off, and it went through the entire win stage music of Super Mario.  The class was completely silent and after it went all the way through one of the kids up front said, “Epic”. Class then continued as if nothing had happened. I’m pretty sure the teacher even liked it.

Tales from the Rearview.

Today was not a good day for driving. Tailgaters everywhere when there’s someone in front of me…  getting stuck behind people with blinkers left on for miles (infuriating)… Following someone for 2 miles going 10 mph under the speed limit…

But more importantly sitting at a red light and watching an altercation take place behind me through my rear view mirror.  There was a guy on a motorcycle (more of a moped) and one in a truck. Apparently the guy in the truck said something to the guy on the motorcyle. Next thing I saw was the guy on the motorcycle bashing the truck’s passenger side mirror.  He started banging on it and then pulled it off and threw it on the ground.  The light changed and I went fast to keep my distance all the while watching through my rear view.  The truck driver and the motorcyclist continued to pursue each other, driving parallel, exchanging insults getting faster and faster.  They then started weaving back and forth through people getting in their way and it ended with the truck guy cutting off the motorcyclist and nearly knocking him over.  From there the truck turned down a side road and so did the motorcyclist.  I only saw the motorcycle once more as it zoomed past me in the middle of the road minutes later.

I think I’ll stay in for the rest of the day…

So back to the hatred of Wal-Mart greeters and their conspiracy to never greet me.

This is seriously a regular thing with me.  Today when I went in there was a newer guy, he was younger and I made eye contact pretty the much the whole time.  I was waiting for the friendly welcome to Wal-Mart, or at least a “hi”.  What I got was half of a nod.  This was actually rather impressive.  I’m imagining that currently they have him in the back room under Chinese Water Torture.  I’ll take that half nod though, not bad.

Even better though is when I went to leave.  I didn’t have to go through checkout since I paid for Starcraft back in the game section.  So I was able to walk right through the front, I held out my receipt in case the lady wanted to check.  I made eye contact and she did nothing, just stared blankly.  So I put my receipt back in the bag and continued.  Just as I was about to walk out the door she said “Have a nice day!”  I turned around to say “you too!” And got to “you—” when she finished her statement.  ”Have a nice day, ladies”.  She said this to the two girls standing behind me. I turned right back around, and kept walking.  A tear slowly rolling down my cheek.
